Artist Exhibit & Reception
Featuring: MARIN CITY ARTS & CULTURE CENTER
Artist Reception: Tuesday, March 11, from 6 to 8 PM.
Tiburon Town Hall, 1505 Tiburon Boulevard, Second Floor
The Town of Tiburon’s Heritage & Arts Commission announces a special exhibition featuring works from the Marin City Arts and Culture collective, now open in Town Hall's downstairs gallery.
Under the direction of dancer and poet Oshalla Diana Marcus, the member-based collective celebrates Black artists and fosters creative connections across communities and has a vital role as a gathering place for artistic expression, community connection, and intergenerational cultural celebration. The exhibition at the Town Hall will showcase various mediums and techniques, including innovative works such as bleach pointillism on black acrylic canvas, alongside evocative paintings that invite personal interpretation.
"The beautiful thing about art in general, and having a collective, is that each piece has a story," says Marcus. "There's a story to be told."
The Town Hall exhibition will run through April 2025 and is free to the public during regular Town Hall hours, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. An opening reception is scheduled for March 11 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
